Tactical FAQ

Does normal running drain stamina in Abyssal Escape?
No! Unlike Pillar Chase 2 or Forsaken, regular running in Abyssal Escape costs zero stamina. Your stamina gauge only drains when you activate Survivor abilities.
What is the Stun Stacking Penalty in Abyssal Escape?
When Survivors hit the Killer with back-to-back stun abilities (such as Homing Attack), the second consecutive stun has its duration reduced by 50% to prevent infinite stun-locking.
How many hits can a Survivor Vessel take before dying?
Your blue Survivor HUD in the bottom-left displays your exact numerical Health (e.g., 100 -> 60 -> Downed) alongside your teammates' live health bars on the right.

Rule #1: Ability Stamina vs. Movement (Why Running Is Free)

The single biggest mistake new players make when joining the Abyssal Escape October 2026 Public Playtest is walking around the map to “save stamina,” or conversely, spamming abilities on cooldown until their gauge hits zero.

In Abyssal Escape, standard sprinting does NOT consume stamina. You can run at full base speed forever without draining a single point of your meter.

  • What Actually Drains Stamina: Activating your 2 equipped skills from the Survivor Abilities Menu—such as Drop Dash, Boost, Homing Attack, or Block—consumes your Ability Stamina wheel in the bottom-left HUD.
  • How Stamina Regenerates: Stamina refills gradually while you are running normally or looping without pressing Q or E. Never burn both abilities back-to-back unless it breaks line of sight against S-Tier Killers like 2017X or Furnace.

Rule #2: The 50% Stun Stacking Penalty Explained

To prevent 8-Survivor lobbies from bullying the Killer with infinite stun chains, Abyssal Escape enforces a strict Stun Stacking Diminishing Return:

Stun Sequence Stun Duration Multiplier Tactical Recommendation
1st Stun (Fresh Target) 100% Full Duration Use Homing Attack or Drop Dash to interrupt a Killer chasing a low-HP ally.
2nd Consecutive Stun 50% Duration (Halved!) DO NOT STACK! Wait at least 10–15 seconds before applying another stun, or the Killer will recover instantly and punish you.
Ground Hazard Snare Standard Slow / Stumble Place Trap or Banana Peel in doorways (see Dispelling Mists & Maps Guide) instead of stacking direct stuns.

Rule #3: Reading the Survivor & Killer HUD

Understanding every indicator on your screen gives you an immediate information advantage:

  1. Bottom-Left Circular Gauge:
    • Blue Gauge (Survivor View): Displays your current numerical Health (e.g., 80 or 60), your Stamina bar, and your two equipped ability cooldowns (Q and E).
    • Crimson Gauge (Killer View): Displays Killer Stamina (e.g., 90.5), active Phase skills (Q, E, R), and rest state.
  2. Top-Right Teammate Status List: Shows all 8 Survivor Vessels in the match along with their live health bars and status icons. If you see a teammate’s health bar drop rapidly, check whether the Killer is 2011X or No More Innocence before rotating to help.
  3. Top-Center Match Timer: Tracks survival time and signals when the Killer is approaching Phase 2 and Phase 3 (see our Killer Tier List).
